Who I am
This website is run by Deborah Brown, trading as The Bonny Broom — that’s me, Deborah, a sole trader providing domestic and small commercial cleaning across the North East. I’m the data controller for any personal information collected through this site. For anything in this policy, email hello@thebonnybroom.co.uk.
What I collect, and why
Enquiry form and email
When you get in touch — through the contact form or by email — I receive the details you choose to send: your name, phone number, email address, town and your message. Form submissions are delivered to my mailbox by Resend, an email delivery service. I use these details for one thing only: answering your enquiry and, if we go ahead, arranging your clean. The lawful basis is legitimate interest — you’ve asked me a question and I’m answering it.
Analytics
With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it’s used — which pages people visit, roughly where they’re browsing from (city level at most), and how they found the site. It runs with Google’s Consent Mode, and no analytics cookies are set unless you accept them via the banner. See the cookie policy for details and to change your choice at any time. The lawful basis is consent.
What I don’t do
I don’t keep marketing lists, I don’t send newsletters, and I never sell or share personal information for anyone else’s marketing. The only people who see your details are me and the services below that make the website work.
Who processes your data
- Resend (email delivery) — passes enquiry-form submissions to my mailbox.
- Vercel (hosting) — serves this website and keeps standard server logs.
- Google (analytics) — only if you consent to analytics cookies.
How long I keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as I need them to look after the job they relate to, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings (14 months).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, delete it or restrict how I use it, and object to my use of it. Email hello@thebonnybroom.co.uk and I’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If anything here changes, I’ll update this page and revise the date at the top.
